On 21st December 2024, Ambedkar Institute of Higher Education (AIHE), Chhitnawa, Danapur, Patna, organized a grand event to celebrate the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, a nationwide cleanliness campaign launched by the Government of India. The event was graced by the presence of several esteemed guests, including the Honorable Chairman of AIHE, Dr. Kaushal Kumar Giri, and the Chief Guest, Mr. Vyas Singh, a prominent Indian politician and the elected MLA for the Daurandha Vidhan Sabha Constituency, Siwan, Bihar.

Dr. Kaushal Kumar Giri, the Chairman of AIHE, officially flagged off the Swachh Bharat Programme, marking the beginning of the cleanliness drive. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of cleanliness in maintaining a healthy and sustainable environment. Both Dr. Giri and Mr. Vyas Singh, the Guest of Honour, actively participated in the programme, setting a powerful example for the students and staff by holding brooms in their hands and contributing to the cleanliness drive.

Mr. Vyas Singh, the MLA, also shared his thoughts on the significance of cleanliness in building a better society and encouraged everyone to take responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean. He reiterated the vision of Mahatma Gandhi, whose dream of a clean India continues to inspire people across the country.

Our respected Academic Director, Dr. Md. Abdullah, also took part in the programme, adding value to the event with his encouraging words. Dr. Abdullah highlighted the importance of such initiatives in shaping young minds and fostering a culture of cleanliness and discipline.

The event was further supported by the active participation of the AIHE community. Our esteemed Campus Coordinator, Dr. Ashish Kumar, along with the Principal in Charge, HODs, Professors, Faculties, Lecturers, Office Assistants, and students from all divisions, took part in the cleanliness drive, contributing to the fulfilment of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of a clean and healthy India.

The programme concluded with a collective pledge of Swachhata (cleanliness), with all participants committing to do their part in maintaining cleanliness in their daily lives. The event served as a reminder to all that cleanliness is not just a duty but a collective responsibility that can lead to a healthier, more prosperous society. AIHE remains committed to promoting such social causes, ensuring that its students grow into responsible citizens who contribute positively to society.
